Privacy Policy

Who we are

Heart of the Pack is a sole-trader dog behaviour and training business owned and operated by Pauline Cowey. We are based at 605 Hughes Gap Road, Crystal Brook SA 5523, Australia.

If you have a question about your information, email pauline@heartofthepack.au.

What we collect

The only personal information we collect comes from you, directly, in two places:

  • The contact and enquiry forms. Your name and email address are required. Your phone number, your dog’s name, and the region you’re in are optional. The message you send us is yours — please don’t include anything sensitive (medical, financial, identity documents) that you don’t need to.
  • Site usage data. We use two analytics tools to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly and cookieless. Google Analytics 4 uses a small number of cookies (described under Cookies below) to count sessions and measure conversions; we do not use Google Analytics for advertising and we have not enabled Google Signals or any feature that builds individual cross-site advertising profiles.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
  • To follow up about your dog, your booking, or written plans we’ve given you.
  • To understand which pages help owners most, so we can keep improving the site.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with anyone outside the providers listed below.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party providers to run the business. Your information may pass through them in the course of helping you:

  • GoHighLevel — our customer relationship management (CRM) system. When you submit a form, your details are sent to GoHighLevel so we can receive the enquiry and reply to you. GoHighLevel is a US-based platform and stores data in its own data centres (primarily the United States).
  • Vercel — our website hosting and analytics provider. Vercel serves the site and records the cookieless analytics described above. Vercel operates globally.
  • Google (Google Analytics 4) — measures site usage and conversions so we can see which pages and channels are working. Google LLC is a US-based provider and stores data in Google’s own data centres. We use only the standard Google Analytics implementation — no advertising features, no Google Signals, no remarketing.
  • Resend — sends the admin password-reset emails (used only by Pauline and her team). Resend is a US-based transactional email provider.

Both providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We only share the minimum information needed to reply to you and run the site.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiry and client information: kept for the life of our working relationship, plus seven years afterwards to meet Australian business and tax record-keeping obligations.
  • Analytics: aggregated only. We do not retain individual visit records.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry record at any time, subject to those record-keeping obligations.

Your rights under Australian privacy law

The Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles give you the right to:

  • Ask what information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information (subject to record-keeping rules).
  • Make a complaint if you think we’ve mishandled your information. Email us first at pauline@heartofthepack.au so we have a chance to fix it. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Cookies

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. The cookies the site does set fall into two small groups:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Used for basic functionality (for example, remembering that a form has been submitted, or — for our team only — keeping you signed in to the admin area). These don’t track you across other sites.
  • Google Analytics cookies. The Google Analytics 4 tag sets two cookies: _ga (used to distinguish unique visitors, expires after 2 years) and _ga_WY0J19W93V (used to maintain session state, expires after 2 years). These help us count sessions and measure conversions in aggregate. They do not contain your name or email. If you’d prefer Google Analytics not run for you, you can install the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies via your browser settings.

Vercel Analytics remains cookieless.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and refresh the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be noted clearly.
