What happens after you submit

Every enquiry comes to me personally — there is no front desk, no junior assessor, no triage system. I read what you have written, look up your suburb or town on the rotation calendar, and respond within one business day with one of three things: a fit for the upcoming consultation rotation in your region, a short phone conversation if I need to understand the case better before I commit to a date, or — for aggression and acute cases — a same-day call back to start the safety planning conversation properly.

Most enquiries fit straight into the rotation. I run consultation days through the Iron Triangle, Mid North, Clare Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Eyre Peninsula and the Upper Spencer Gulf on a roughly fortnightly cadence. Lead time is usually two to four weeks depending on the region — the closer towns to Crystal Brook (Port Pirie, Jamestown, Burra, Crystal Brook itself) often inside two weeks, the longer drives (Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Kadina) inside four. Acute aggression cases get prioritised inside that schedule.

Before the consultation day, I send you a short preparation note — what to have ready, who needs to be home, where I will park, and the small handful of things that make the first hour of the session more useful. The session itself is three and a half to four hours in-home. Within forty-eight hours of leaving you will have a written plan covering what we worked through, the household management changes, and the order to apply them. Ongoing email support is included for about a fortnight after that, which is when the small follow-up questions tend to surface.

Common questions before you call

How quickly will Pauline respond?

Within one business day for the vast majority of enquiries. Aggression and acute cases — anything involving a bite, a child safety concern, or a household that has lost control of basic management — usually get a same-day call back. If you have not heard back within twenty-four hours during a normal working week, assume the message did not land and please phone directly.

What does Pauline need from me in the first message?

Your suburb or town, the breed and age of the dog, a one-paragraph description of what you are seeing, and any history that matters (rescue, bite incident, previous training program, recent change in the household). That is enough for me to know whether the in-home consultation, the Crystal Brook training room, or online coaching is the right starting format — and whether your case fits the next rotation through your region.

Do you work with aggression and bite-history cases?

Yes — these are the cases I take most often. Every aggression enquiry starts with a phone or video conversation before I commit to a consultation date, so I can understand the safety picture and the household properly. I do not work cases blind, and I do not turn cases away early. If you are worried about what your dog might do, please reach out — earlier is always better than later.

How far do you travel?

Roughly a ninety-minute radius from Crystal Brook for the standard rotation — Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Jamestown, Burra, Clare, Peterborough, Crystal Brook itself, and the surrounding properties. Longer drives to Kadina and Port Lincoln happen on scheduled rotation days. Anywhere further than that is online coaching territory — same method, slightly different format.

What if I am not sure whether you can help?

Take the Free Behaviour Test. It takes two minutes, and at the end of it both of us have a clearer picture of which of the eight service categories your case sits in — and whether the next conversation should be a phone consultation, an in-home day, or something else entirely. The test is genuinely free; there is no email gate behind it.
